The Big Deal About Warhammer Online Gold

By Joan Kaiser

Warhammer's Mark Jacobs is notorious among the War universe for bashing gold sellers and spammers. Read any interview he has given and you are sure to find at least one comment about his hatred for this illegal business. Now do a search for Warhammer Online gold and you will see just how effective his comments and policies on the issue have been. These websites are literally everywhere!

These gold sellers seem to be pretty passionate about their businesses, often times setting up websites with great functionality. This leads one to believe the gold selling business must be pretty good right now.

On the downside, one thing you will notice is the broken English scattered through out most of these sites. Broken English usually means the website is ran by someone outside the US, but for all we know it's just bad grammar.

Almost every MMO site has or is experiencing issues with the illegal sale of gold and has found it hard to control. Many still wonder why this is such a big deal though. After all, spamming is a form of advertisement and the last time we all checked advertising wasn't an illegal activity.

The even bigger issue is the illegal hacking of player accounts that has been going on though. Some of these websites are "farming" gold by stealing it from others who have put in the time and dedication to earn it the proper way. Hacking is illegal pretty much everywhere and is directly stated in the Warhammer terms of service as such.

As with any dilemma, there are two sides to the issue. In this case, the gold sellers say they offer a service while the MMO says they interrupt game play with chat spam and illegally hack accounts for their own gain. Pick your own side in this battle.
