Buy Video Games Cheaper

By John Craddock

Video gamers are well aware that video games can be really expensive to purchase. My tips on saving money on video games are sure to save you a small fortune!

Regular gamers can spend hundreds of pounds each year. Although you can get a lot of pleasure on your purchases, this is often still way to expensive. Thankfully, there are many ways that can save you money when buying video games.

Pre-Order early. Lots of retailers put video games on offer before their release. Windows 7 operating system was 120 on many retailers' sites, yet I managed to pre-order a copy from Tesco for 40 in a 2-day special promotion! This example can be applied to video games. I recently searched around for a good pre-order deal on the massive upcoming game: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. After 1 hour of searching around, I came across a site selling it for 36.95, everywhere else was 45.99. That's nearly a saving of 10!

Purchase second hand. Wait until your favourite game is released, then search around on sites such as eBay. Find it second hand; you could save 10 or more. If the game has only just been released, you can be sure the game will be in like-new condition.

Many online stores have what's called "promo codes". Do a quick search on Google for the retailers name your looking to buy from with the phrase "promo codes" after it. Most retailers have some kind of promotion on, which you can take advantage of if you can find the promotion code.

All of these great tips can save you a lot of money, however, they can also cost you a lot of time. I came across a site that compares the prices of all gaming retailers, listing the best offer in seconds. The site specialises in video games alone, and I have saved 100s using the site, and tens of hours on my own time! www.checkgameprices.com is sure to save you money off your video games.

Incorporate these tips, and save yourself a small fortune!
