Cannot Overlook These Frightening Horror Films

By Judy M Gray

October is not the only great time to view terrifying, horror films. You can enjoy getting frightened any time of the year. Here are some impressive scary movies that you can download whenever, day or night.

Great horror motion pictures often get remade over and over again. "House on Haunted Hill" first came out in 1959 and then again in 1999, 40 years afterward. In the film a millionaire and his wife offer 5 guests the chance to make some cash, ironically with inflation it was only $10,000 in 1959 and a cool $1,000,000 in 1999, if they can stay the entire night in a haunted home.

Vincent Price was the millionaire in the initial 1959 version. He played along with Carol Ohmart, Richard Long, Alan Marshal, Carolyn Craig and Elisha Cook. The names, jobs and characteristics of the characters changed by 1999 but the most important storyline stayed the same. In 1999, the millionaire was Geoffrey Rush, with Famke Jannsen playing his wife. Taye Diggs, Peter Gallagher, Chris Kattan, Ali Larter and Bridgette Wilson rounded out the visitors.

The most famous vampire in history is Bram Stoker's Dracula. In 1931 the first Dracula motion picture starred Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula. A more recent adaptation in 1992 starred Gary Oldman as Dracula. Francis Ford Coppola directed that version. It also starred Wynona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins and Keanu Reeves.

Dracula is the most infamous vampire of all times and many movie versions have been made. While there are some differences they all mostly follow the same story as the first with Dracula inflicting horror on the people of Transylvania. The first novel was authored by an Irishman named Bram Stoker back in 1897.

From 1987, "The Prince of Darkness", Evil is entombed in a forgotten container found in an vacant Los Angeles Church. Unleashing the contents could mean the end of the world as the devil himself is encapsulated in the evil canister. It is up to the Pastor and some of his students to control the mess.

The Pastor is played by Donald Pleasence, also starring Jameson Parker, Victor Wong, Lisa Blount and music legend Alice Cooper plays a street schizo. John Carpenter directed this horror motion picture.

Anytime of the year is a good time to scare yourself silly with a excellent horror movie. Check out these and other great titles and download them now so you can watch them tonight.
